"Wild West Glass" Tassel
"Wild West Glass" - a real piece of history.. suspending a handmade teal tassel, adorned with a medley of crystal chain work...
I had never heard of this amazing glass until I attended the Tucson gem show this year. At first, I naturally assumed it was beach glass - as it looks almost identical. The purveyor explained to me that it actually comes from out west, where pioneering communities established towns and communities.. that no longer exist. It comes from window panes, bottles, old oil lamps... as these towns were abandoned or destroyed, this glass remained.. becoming weathered in time and age amongst the soil and sand. It is like beach glass from the earth! Being a wee bit obsessed with the exploration of the wild west (think Deadwood days...) these gems captured my heart and imagination instantly. Think of the stories they could tell!!
The pendant is suspended from chain studded with: Larimar, Clear Quartz, Zoisite Ruby, Aquamarine, and Rutilated Quartz.
This one-of-a-kind piece has gone through a copper-plating process known as electroforming. It deposits a thick layer of copper onto the pendant - which also works to enhance the inherent energetic properties of the stone itself, as copper is an excellent conductor. Total chain length is 32", with pendant and tassel dangling below.
I charge every crystal with healing reiki energy, and cleanse it with white sage prior to shipment. It arrives carefully packaged with a protective, hand-crafted blend of herbs and petals.
